Florida Operators Unite Under New Management
Owners of transportation services throughout the state of Florida came together this summer to help fold three groups into one state trade organization; the Greater Orlando Limousine Association, the West Florida Limousine Association and the Florida Limousine Association (a predominantly southern influenced group).  The newly minted board of directors will represent their respective regions. The FLA was chosen as the moniker.  Included on the board is a member of council, an insurance representative and an equipment supplier based in Florida.

The Florida Limousine Association will be managed by Sara Eastwood-Richardson, who left LCT in 2019 to form RAS International, a company dedicated to growing non-profits.

Florida Gov. Ron Desantis Seeks to Expand Toll Discounts

After establishing a six-month program to save certain commuters about $10 a month on tolls, Gov. Ron DeSantis wants to expand the program next year.  As he campaigns for re-election, DeSantis on Wednesday said he will ask the Legislature in 2023 to give frequent SunPass and E-Pass users a 50 percent monthly credit for a full year. “We’re very fortunate that when you lead the nation in tourism, you know those folks pay taxes and that’s part of the reason we can have such a low tax burden statewide and do a lot of this,” DeSantis said while at the Florida Department of Transportation District 6 headquarters in Miami.

Message From Executive Director,
Sara Eastwood-Richardson

Welcome to our first edition of FLA Breaking News Bulletin!  On behalf of the Florida Limousine Association board of directors and my team, let me just say, we are all thrilled to bring you the NEWS!  We know the state of Florida is starvng for regular information and therefore we're making it a priority to send you breaking stories every week. This is a FREE communication service. However, the FLA is a non-profit. We exist to defend the rights of ligitimate Florida operators in the for-hire transportation industry.  What does non-profit mean?  It means what we raise in dues and sponsorships/pledges is not put into our pockets, rather it's money we use to hire lobbyists, lawyers and experts who can help us solve our problems and make for a better working environment. Also the FLA is a networking arm for all of you. We'll bring you education, and lots of it!  We will provide you access to legacy operators who will share best practices with you.  And, we'll have a discount program on everything that you already must buy to operate your vehicles. By working as a larger body of businesses, the FLA will be able to negotiate for you and bring you bargains.

The fun is just beginning.  We want you to be a part of our community. I want to hear from you so reach out to me!  I need your input on what's important to you so we are able to prioritize our goals. We need volunteers and we need sponsors!  Sign up online at www.floridalimousine.com.
